The previous waterproof mattress cover I got was nothing like this. From my local baby mega store, I purchased a mattress cover with a quilted fleece top that was very thin and not soft and somewhat stiff. This cover has a soft, cushion-y feel since it has the cotton top. Beneath the cotton cover is a waterproof layer. I don't know what the waterproof layer is made of, but it seems like it can block moisture. I'm very happy with this and I like the soft, natural, non-plasticy feel it has. The packaging looks a little sketchy because it's so generic looking but the product itself is great.

Ruined after washing!, October 29, 2011 This review is from: J.Lamb & Friends Natural Cotton Top Waterproof Fitted Crib Pad, Ecru (Baby Product) I followed the washing instructions to the letter, and when I went to put it on my baby's mattress, the waterproof lining inside was all stuck to itself. When I tried to shake it out, the sides tore, now it is completely ruined and my baby isn't even born yet. Don't do it!
